The Belgian medium US, has reported that a rare continental runic-type coin over 1000 years old has been found in Born in Limburg, in Belgium.
The coin is over 1,000 years old and is particularly rare in this region.
«This coin was minted around 700 and it is of the continental runic type ”, explained the specialist in ancient coins Paul Belien.
Only 24 of the more than 3,000 coins found in the Netherlands at this time were discovered in Limburg, and only 4 are of this rare continental runic type.
This currency was used mainly throughout along the Frisian coast, for which they have rarely reached as far south as Limburg.
"It is difficult to put a current value of the currency, but we know from historical sources that in the Middle Ages it took 36 to buy a cow," Belien explained.
After studying History at the University and after many previous tests, Red Historia was born, a project that emerged as a means of dissemination where to find the most important news of archeology, history and humanities, as well as articles of interest, curiosities and much more. In short, a meeting point for everyone where they can share information and continue learning.
